Competitive, but slipping away

After the 2016 Election, the SD27 registration trend deteriorated dramatically owing to rapid growth in Unaffiliated registration coupled with an actual decline in Republican numbers. This has left SD27 in competitive territory and it is now on the cusp of becoming solidly Democrat by the time the 2020 Election rolls around.

CO registration mix worsens more than anticipated
Colorado Voter Registration – March ’20

The March Colorado voter registration numbers had Republican registration down by 209 on the month. The Republican-Democrat registration gap widened by 6,901 to now leave Republicans at a 86,173 registration disadvantage to Democrats.
